A Husband's Role in Proverbs 31

Proverbs 31:10-31 is often looked at in women’s studies and by a number of women who seek to be a wife and women of noble character. While this passage can offer great insight for women, I think it can offer even deeper insight for the actions of men to be empowering husbands that build our wife up to be who God has intended her to be. God chose us to be with our wives, so that He could use us daily to build up, encourage, and empower her to be even greater.

Daily, it requires us filling up with all knowledge, wisdom, and depth of insight from the Lord to know how to make our words and actions loving and to pinpoint the fears, doubts, and feelings of inadequacy that our wives can carry around. This is a tall order and a high calling, but it is the challenge we stepped up to when we said “I do” and our first and foremost ministry, but most of all, our delight.

The opening statement of this section says “A wife of noble character who can find? Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value." And earlier in Proverbs 12:4 it says “A wife of noble character is her husbands crown.”
Have full confidence in your wife, bless her with love, encourage her, and empower her; she is your crown.

Let’s commit to love our wives in a way that makes them come even more alive every day through our servant leadership and persistent love.
