My Grace is Sufficient For Thee...

When life turns a heavy hand, and the scales of despair and anguish fall heavy on one side, an inrush of grace turns the scales. It is not me or I that should need to dig deep enough to find the gumption or fortitude to weather the season or withstand the current, but it is rather The Force within that overflows with a density of grace that brings the scales to balance, tipping away amidst the weight of what may fall on the other side. While the despair and anguish are still ever present, throbbing with each breath, the weight of grace settles in to balance the scales as hope permeates and begins to saturate the crust of pain that forms in life.

It is in the beckoning moment of hardship and despair we realize, perhaps evermore explicitly, that His grace is not just sufficient for all, but in an intimately joyful moment that it is sufficient for me. If there is one thing we need, it is Thy grace in every season.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
