This is completely unofficial, but I've been stalking the Vampire Knight forums on Manga Fox, and I heard that the anime will have a second season in October. Only thing is, I'm not sure if they mean that they're airing the second thirteen in October, or if it's a whole new set of 26. How does a season of anime work? I'm going by American TV shows, where they have roughly 24 episodes a season, give it a rest for a season, then come back with the next season and another 24 or so episodes. If it was a whole other set of 26, do they even get a break?

Also, watching episode 12, I'd say that it would have been the perfect place to stop if that's how it works. Not that I wan it to end yet, but just saying.

Time to hit the forums.

If it's only 13 episodes then it comes back in October, oh my god. That means there is only one episode left until October. Can I actually survive the wait?

vampire knight episode 9

I finally got around to watching episode nine of Vampire Knight. I downloaded it on Tuesday and found myself so damn busy with everything that I completely forgot to watch it.

Anyway, I loved the episode. Aido being an immature little jerk is always hilarious. I don't know why it's OK for him to be a jerk, but everyone else just bugs me. Maybe because he means no real harm? Unlike Maria, who I was slightly looking forward to seeing, just to see how she was portrayed. I seriously hated Maria in the manga, but it seems that I hate her even more in the anime. I haven't a clue how that's even possible, but whatever. I guess they portrayed her right, though. I think people are supposed to hate her.

I'm also not too fond of her character design. She looks a little plain or something. I think it had something to do with her hair or something? I had expected her to be a blonde, but I don't think that's it. Still, when she stood next to Yuki, it's like "Huh... I think Yuki is prettier than her." Maybe it's just me.

Now I'm waiting impatiently to be properly introduced to Ichiru.

From here on out, anything in black will be a spoiler. And I'll put a spoiler warning up as well, because in a few weeks someone is going to come upon my blog and read something they didn't know yet and send me an angry comment full of bad spelling and exclamation points otherwise. Want to read the spoiler? Highlight the black. Unless you haven't read Vampire Knight chapter 40. Or if you just don't care.
I read chapter 39 a while ago and I was pretty much freaking out. I was all “No! He can’t die! I mean, sure, he’s my favorite character, so he’s pretty much destined to die before this series is over. But he can’t die yet! *wibble*” Then I read the chapter and I’m all “Yay! Zero’s not dead! Zero’s not dead! Yet. *wibble*”

Anyway, little Zero and Ichiru, adorable as always. Does anyone else think they were just a bit too close back then? Not that I’m complaining...

When Rido said that he was glad Shizuka was dead, I was sitting there thinking “Oh, wow. Ichiru is going to be pissed.” He was the one watching over Rido when he’s in Shiki’s body, right? Gods, my memory is complete and total crap.

Under the impression that Ichiru was the one watching over Rido, I’m all “Dude! Why are you watching over the bastard who’s silently celebrating that the one you love is dead?!” But then I read this chapter. And wonder “Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?” Did I miss something? And then at the very end, it’s like… OK. You want him to awaken… because? Don’t you want him dead? Couldn’t he just kill him when he was just the bloody thing in the tub? Why wait until he wakes up and go looking for conflict?
And, OK, I get it. He wants Zero to “eat him” to somehow give Zero the power that Ichiru got when they were born. Okie dokie. So, does he want Zero to go after Rido? Is confused.
Of course, I was already under the impression that Ichiru was a bit scrambled. But this chapter doesn’t leave a shadow of doubt. He tries to kill Rido, then he protects him. Huh? He’s all “I hate you Zero” then he’s all “Hugging you calms me down.” Speaking of which, I awed out loud at the hug. Because seriously, twins on a prison floor hugging.

And what did Zero do to Ichiru? Did he literally EAT him? Ew.
vampire knight chapter 40

Vampire Knight chapter 40 is translated on Manga Fox!!!
